Frequently Asked Questions

What types of used products can I sell on Amazon?
You can sell used products across most categories including consumer electronics, books, DVDs, CDs, video games, and general merchandise. However, certain categories like Beauty, Food & Grocery, Health Care, and Supplements are not eligible for used sales.
Are there any additional fees for selling used products?
No. You'll only pay Amazon's standard referral fees (ranging from 7% to 15% depending on the product category). There are no additional program fees for selling used products.
How do I determine the condition of my used products?
Amazon has four condition guidelines for used products:
  • Like New: An item in perfect working condition, the packaging may bear some damage. The item fully functions, and all its essential accessories are complete.
  • Very Good: An item in very good condition that may have seen limited use and fully functions. The item may have minor cosmetic imperfections. It may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged and could be missing some non-essential accessories. Missing accessories are shown under individual item description.
  • Good: An item in good condition that may show wear from moderate use and fully functions. The item may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged. It may have minor cosmetic damage, such as a small scratch. The item may be missing some valuable accessories, and it may not be used until those accessories are purchased separately. Missing accessories are shown under individual item description.
  • Acceptable: An item may have clear signs of usage but still serves its main function. Item may arrive with damaged packaging or be repackaged. The item may have cosmetic damages on it or show other signs of previous use. Signs of usage can include scratches, dents, and worn corners or edges. The item may be missing some valuable accessories, components or spare parts, and it may not be used until those parts are purchased separately. Missing parts are shown under individual item description.
Each listing must accurately reflect the product's true condition.
How do I price my used products?
You have full control over pricing your used products. However, used product prices should be competitive and lower than new product prices, with pricing typically reflecting the condition (Like New commanding higher prices than Acceptable condition).
Are advertising options available for used products?
While traditional advertising campaigns aren't currently available for used products, you can still utilize Amazon's promotional tools, including percentage-off promotions and buy-one-get-one offers.
How can I protect against returns and negative reviews?
The key is transparency in your offer. Provide detailed condition descriptions and clear photos showing any wear or imperfections. This sets accurate customer expectations and reduces the likelihood of returns and negative reviews.
