What is Product Compliance?
Product Compliance describes a set of regulatory requirements that a product must meet in order to be sold in the European Union. These requirements cover all the stages of the product life cycle: from the safety and compliance standards for the product and its production to the obligatory information on a physical product packaging and a product detail page online.
Product requirements in the EU and UK
The requirements to list your products may differ based on the product and country you are selling in, so we recommend you consult your legal counsel or supplier to ensure you have all relevant information.
Market Surveillance Regulation
What are the existing requirements? Since July 16 2021, it has been illegal to sell CE-marked products in the EU without a Responsible Person in the EU. CE-marked products must be labeled with the contact information of the Responsible Person. This labeling can be attached to the product, its packaging, the parcel, or an accompanying document.
Responsible Person
Amazon already collects the contact information of the Responsible Person for non-EU brands and ASINs that use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) via the Responsible Person dashboard.
